Recreational marijuana can cause the munchies, which can be a bad side effect. However, to a cancer patient going through chemotherapy the munchies can be a good thing. Chemotherapy takes away a patient’s appetite, but the marijuana increases the metabolism and brings their appetite back (10 Surprising Health Benefits of Medical Marijuana). Unlike medical marijuana use, recreational use of marijuana can have many negative side effects. In 2014, an eight-month old baby was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She needed chemotherapy. However, before chemo the father wanted to try medicinal marijuana. Twice a day he put some cannabis oil (marijuana oil) on her pacifier and slowly increased the dosage. After 2 months, the tumor reduced remarkably and there was no need for chemo after that. Today, she has no long- term side effect from her treatment. To have something that easy to use and to get such a remarkable and unbelievable outcome is fantastic.
