Informative Essay On Service Dog

1319 Words6 Pages

Writing an essay is not easy, at least for me. It takes time to develop a sophisticated piece of work that people will want to read more and more of. Ideas need to be written thoughtfully and sources need to be incorporated smoothly. Words need to have meanings to them, and sentences need to make sense. Now, I didn’t know how much I could learn in four months to make me a better reader and writer. I’ve learned so much from the use of Aristotelian Appeals to signal phrases to quote sandwiches. As a college reader and writer, I’ve developed my skills from writing multiple informative essays, journals, and peer feedbacks.

The project prompted us to write about something that sparked curiosity in us. For me, I wrote about how Americans should evaluate the authenticity of a service dog and why. I wanted to educate people about service dogs in the United States, no matter the age, gender, race, ethnicity, etc. Therefore, I believe I was able to inform people about the significance of service dogs by writing an informative essay. They help people live healthier, independent lives. In contrast, I think my Be Insightful Project was harder to write because we had to synthesize our sources in every paragraph. Once I learned how to synthesize my sources, then I was able to write my paper more effectively. On that note, I think my Be Insightful paper on food insecurity was more effective because I learned a new skill that I could produce in my papers. In addition, I already have written two other papers that were under my belt. Another reason I believe it was more successful was because we used a synthesis grid. The synthesis grid provided me with a thorough outline that I could use in my actual paper. I utilized it a lot more compared to our writing proposals. Furthermore, I would revise my essay on food insecurity because it had different requirements that were more challenging to meet. Because I’m given the chance to revise, then I would like to fix the problems that occurred with synthesizing my sources. For example, I wasn’t able to have two synthesized sources in every paragraph. I also had issues with keeping track of my quote sandwiches. For example, I forgot to italicize longer works
