An eating disorder is a range of psychological disorders, characterized by abnormal or disturbed eating habits. This is more common in America than most people think. It happens with people from all different ages (male or female, young or old, black or white) it really doesn’t matter anybody can be a victim of an eating disorder. Eating disorders mostly happen with people with low self-esteem, someone trying to become a model, trying to stay in their weight range for a sport like boxing, or someone who is being picked on bout their weight. The first one is Anorexia Nervosa, this is a self-imposed starvation. Anorexia is emotional cause; this is where people are obsessed with food but don’t allow themselves to eat. But they don’t just deny food; they deny relationships, social activities, and even pleasure. The second one is the most common one which is Bulimia Nervosa. When people have the bulimia disorder they will eat a lot of food in a short period of time and then purge immediately after. This is ridding their bodies from the food they just ate by vomiting, taking laxatives, or other medication. The third disorder is compulsive eating disorder. This disorder cause by uncontrolled eating and when you are uncontrolled eating that cause overeating. A person with compulsive eating disorder will continue to eat after they become uncomfortably full. This disorder is mostly followed by guilt and depression.
