Swinging the golf club on the proper swing path is one of the most difficult parts of hitting a golf ball. An inaccurate swing path can make you struggle to make contact with the golf ball, and maybe cause you to slice the ball. A. Swinging the club on a proper swing path begins with the takeaway/backswing. When bringing the club back, imagine the ball is at 12 o’clock, and then swing your club back on arc going to 3 o’clock. B. Once you have reached the top of your backswing, initiate your downswing by slightly moving your hips forward towards the ideal target. The power in a golf swing is generated from the hips and driving them through the golf ball. C. The impact and club release is the last part of the golf swing. Remember when making impact with the ball to keep your head down and not look up until well after you have made contact. Lifting your head up is the most common mistake made by armature golfers.
