Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park is a great place to enjoy. I am going to tell you information about the national park that you need to know. It is in Hawaii which is pretty obvious.The park was established on August 1, 1916 which is the same day of the Battle of Verdun and the Battle of Bitlis. There is a lot of wildlife in the park and some of it you may find fascinating. The first type of wildlife I'm going to talk about is the Hawaiian hawk. It is one bird out of the many that live in the national park. Its diet consists of rodents, insects, and other smaller birds; the Hawaiian hawk is carnivore and the population is 3,000. Lastly, I’m going to tell you about another bird called the Hawaiian short-eared owl. Its diet consists of small mammals, such as mice and rats, insects, and other small birds though it is not common to spot. So we can assume that most of the animals in the national park are carnivores. You could try to write a report on the ones I mentioned. There are a lot of landforms in Hawaii National Park. I am going to tell you about some of them and you may want to visit them. The first one I am going to talk about is the Lava tube. Lava tubes are underground paths that are burnt by lakes of molten lava. They are formed by an erupting volcano which has lava flowing down it, the lava burns in the ground and creates a Lava tube, the most famous Lava tube is the Thruston lava tube. Now I am going to tell you about the Lava trees. Lava trees are trees that are near a volcano which are preserved in time. Lava trees are formed when trees are near a volcano and the volcano erupts, but the lava does not hit the trees, instead the ashes from the volcanic eruption cover the trees and stick to it permanently.
