Jude Thaddeus. St. Jude is a place where children with all types of illnesses can come to get treatment. They have various types of treatments for all kinds of children. They also have one of the warmest environments for children and their parents. You feel at ease when you walk through the doors and you automatically get a good feeling that your child is being taken care of. Hi, my name is Jasmine and today, I will be informing you on St. Jude, I will be talking about how St. Jude came to be the treatment they offer and my personal experience as a patient. St. Jude Research Hospital was founded by Danny Thomas on 1962.That day was a special day because there was a new building being donated and a statue. The building was a star-shaped the first new addition to the hospital from Danny Thomas himself and the famous symbol of hope the St. Jude Thaddeus statue. In 1994 St. Jude was the first children’s hospital to have with housing and a place where children with all illness can come and get treatment. In St. Jude1996 Jude expended and opened a new patient care building along with welcoming their first honored guest Hillary Clinton. In the early 2000’s St. Jude began to expand more in staff cures and new patients. The C.E.Os. of St. Jude are Dr. Donald Pinkel (1961-1973) he was the first director and ceo of St. Jude he focused most of his time of the frequent cancer in children, he and his colleges used most of their time trying to find cures for cancer. Dr. James R. Downing is the 6th and current ceo and director of St. Jude. He works a s a Genome sequencing pioneer, and over sees the Pediatric Cancer Genome Project.
