Topic: The care requirements of a Siberian Husky
The general purpose of this speech is to inform the audience of the specific care requirements of a Siberian Husky. The specific purpose is to inform the audience about the needs and requirements of a Siberian Husky. The thesis of this speech is Siberian Husky ownership requirements. The introduction will include an attention getter: Siberian Huskies are amazing creatures. Originally from Siberia, the Husky can survive in extremely cold temperatures, down to negative 70 F! This is something that will grab the attention of the audience (startling statistic). My reason to listen to this speech is that Huskies are really beautiful, highly intelligent dogs, but before you decide to get a husky, you need to know that Huskies require an enormous amount of attention and a lot of effort. They are very strong-willed animals, and most huskies do better with an experienced dog owner.

Huskies have a thick double coat which keeps them well insulated. Their undercoat is short & warm, while the overcoat is long and water-resistant. Therefore, weekly grooming is required. It is best to start grooming your husky at a very young age so that they get used to it and don’t struggle when they’re older and bigger. About twice a year, huskies will “blow their coat” which is when they shed more than ever. If your husky isn’t exercising on hard surfaces, like cement or gravel, their nails should be trimmed regularly with a nail clipper or grinder to avoid splitting cracking, and overgrowth. Their ears should also be checked very regularly to avoid a buildup of wax and debris which can cause an infection, which is very uncomfortable for the dog and very expensive for
