Elie Wiesel and many others were put through torture and horror. But Elie had survived, he had survived the Holocaust. He was treated with such cruelty and savage treatment. He was treated Inhumanely He was not only treated with inhumanity, but he starts to see fellow prisoners as nonhuman. This is why I believe the theme of the narrative is Inhumanity. A type of author's craft Elie uses in the book is word craft. He uses this to further convey the theme in the narrative.
