Honore de Balzac once said, “Laws are spider webs through which the big flies pass and the little ones get caught.” I believe this quote asserts Colin Kaepernick's ability to be the voice for people who don’t have a platform to speak about the wrongdoings. Colin Kaepernick is an African American football player who sat during the National Anthem at a 49ers game last year. Kaepernick’s protest is not about the flag but about racial injustice happening all around the world. I agree with Kaepernick protest because there is injustice, police brutality, and inequality going on that some people are choosing to ignore.

Some of the recent names of the victims that were killed are Eric Garner, Michael Brown, and Alton Sterling. One major fact in all three deaths was not one of the victims were armed with any weapon before losing their life at the hands of a police officer. Also, the grand jury declined to indict officers that were involved in any of the cases.
Several individuals around the U.S were killed by police officers that either used excessive force or fatally shoot an unarmed victim.The way police officers choose to subdue their victims during confrontations is unacceptable. Police officer are sworn in to protect and serve the communities that we live in. How can an individual feel safe when the same police officers are killing innocent people in the line of duty. In addition to that, justice is not being served to the families of the innocent victims, and something needs to be done.
This is why Colin Kaepernick's protest should allow change to take place. It's not about race, color, or gender, Kaepernick just wants justice for each and every individual who hasn't received justice for the innocent death of a loved one in their family.
