Instructional Strategy Direct Teaching

One instructional strategy I plan on using in my classroom is Cooperative Learning, which falls under the Instructional Strategy: Facilitative Teaching. The strategy of "cooperative learning involves two or more students working together to complete specific tasks" (Charles & Senter, 2008, p. 111). Cooperative learning aligns perfectly to my classroom step design. My classroom design is explicitly set up for cooperative learning based on the large group tables, and the circle set up of the classroom. The goal of the circle set up of the classroom is to encourage students to have large classroom discussions.

The strategy of the Say, See, Do cycle has three steps: explanation, modeling, and structured practice (Charles & Senter, 2008, p. 107).
