The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and John F. Kennedy (JFK) were at great odds with each other. Kennedy had tried to dissolve the CIA bases in Florida and Louisiana which angered the CIA and put Kennedy and the CIA at great odds. These bases would have been used in the CIA plot to exterminate Castro. Secondly, Kennedy threatened the CIA plans concerning Cuban leader Fidel Castro when he promised he would not invade. Although the CIA was angry at Kennedy, the CIA continued with their unsuccessful plan of exterminating Castro (Hager). The mission to kill Castro failed because Kennedy did not send reinforcements to Cuba to aid the others.
