Intelligence without Ambition is A Bird without Wings It is not required of you to further your education after high school. You have to want to work hard and actually have the desire to get to college. They do not let just anybody in. You try your hardest, you get into the college you have always wanted to attend, and you continue to do your absolute best for the next four years in order to acquire that degree. You have ambition. Ambition is the uncommon desire to work hard to accomplish a difficult task. Creative people have ambition. They often strive for accomplishments that people whom lack creativity would not even consider trying. My friend Stephen had a project due for our First Year Seminar class on a book we had to read over the summer. The book, As Strange as This Weather Has Been, was about mountaintop removal mining, and he had an amazing idea. While a majority of the class decided to paint pictures of trees, taking the easy way out, his idea was to make a mountain out of clay with a depressed face molded into the top. Becoming a lawyer, CEO, or doctor is not easy to do. Without ambition, you will likely not have the dedication to do what it takes to be successful in that career. A family friend named Amanda is an orthopedic physician, and she has told me many times that I need motivation and dedication to be a doctor.
