Brazil exists as a very bio diverse country that has white-sand beaches and flawless rain forests. Portuguese adventurers first settled this magical place in the 1500’s. The current population of Brazil is now about 195,976,000. Nearly half of South America is taken up by Brazil (According to “Brazil - Lonely Planet"). The thing that must be discussed here is Internet censorship. Brazil in the past has had an extremely censored internet, but continues to move towards more freedom internet wise, due to a lot of censoring in the past, passing progressive laws such as the Marco Civil law, and the government acting more lenient towards the people of Brazil. Internet censorship in Brazil in the past has been to protect journalists of Brazil. Many journalists have been killed in the past for reporting what they have witnessed or picked up from sources. When the government censors what the journalist are trying to blog about, on the Internet, it is them trying to withhold information from their country for the better of their country.
