The internet has evolved and changed the way humans socialize, and share information around the world today. Even the way we we work, the internet allows us to find and create jobs everyday. Today large corporations, enterprises and economies have taken advantage of this innovation and turned it into a major profit tool. He and a technology company Bolt, Beranek and Newman put together a few unique ideas about global networking in a series of memos, describing an “Intergalactic Computer Network.” Together they created the idea to link computers and share imformation across the world. During the Cold War the United States searched for a way to communicate and survive a nuclear war. These events landed Licklider a position as director of the U.S. Department Of Defense Advanced Reasearch Projects Agency. This governmet agency became responsible for creating a universal sharing network of computers known as Arpanet, which is known as todays internet. During the 1980s,the National Sicence Foundation built the nation wide computer network known as NSFNET.
