Having witnessed the unfortunate human physical and social consequences of third world countries, I have grown increasingly committed to a career in Medicine that would enable me to integrate my scientific interests with a compassion for people. As a medical student, I have found internal medicine to be most personally rewarding field, and I feel that a career as an internist most completely matches my talents and personality. I also believe that I have many attributes to contribute to the field of internal medicine: I am good listener, problem’s solver and critical thinker, I like to analyze and I enjoyed the moment when I get the diagnoses and management plan. Moreover I have strong knowledge in internal medicine thanks to countless hours of reading and preparation. During my clinical rotations, I realized that the contentment I found in studying basic sciences was only surpassed by that of clinical practice. I was able to witness firsthand how all the basic theoretical concepts were being applied for the benefit of unraveling the perplexity of patients’ presentations, interpreting different diagnostic investigations, and producing management plans. In no other rotation, did I observe such utilization of physiology, pathology, and pharmacology as in my Internal Medicine clerkships. …show more content…

Coupled with an ability to learn quickly and to manage my time efficiently, I believe that my excellent performance in medical school and my experience with the USMLE exams reflect an exceptional medical education and clinical performance. Furthermore, my knowledge of the ethical aspects adjoined to the field of medicine (i.e. right for health care, doctor- patient confidentiality, disclosure of diagnosis and treatment options, right to accept or refuse treatment, and so on) will help me in providing the best possible medical care to my
