The bridge Of San Luis Rey was published in the year 1927. Marquesa de Montemayer a daughter of a wealthy man who sells things and trades them, in around the eighteen century in colonial Peru. Her mom was an unpleasant, unhappy person she was mad at her daughter, she even at one time didn’t lover her because of her looks she was rood to her even at certain times, Clara was like her father who didn’t show any affection towards. What she longed for was to be accepted by someone, but she only did it in a selfish manner. Since Dona Maria was a lonely person she adopted a girl from an orphanage to keep her attained through her struggles of being lonely and her name was Pepita. Pepita was made by Marquesa to travel with her everywhere she went and was treated like her right hand. Dona Clara paid little to no attention to the letters that her mother had taken the time to write to her and barely responded to them ans she gained enough courage to respond she said only a few words, her mother didn’t care much about herself, for example she didn’t take care of her health she would also sometimes get drunk because her daughter refused to speak with her. In her own perspective she thought that nobody understood the term love or even what it was she basically questioned the existence of love.
