The main difficulty among this couple is their refusal to talk to one another. Mr. Das hides behind his guidebook and views the world through his camera. Mrs. Das hides behind her sunglasses and doesn't bother to make any interactions with her husband and even her children. Mrs. Das decided to reveal one of her marriages and her life's major secrets as Mr. Kapasi and her became closer. She says, “Rajs. He's not Raj’s son” (Lahiri 62). Mrs. Das has withheld this information from Mr. Das, perpetuating the distance between each other. Because Mrs.Das has been withholding the truth from him for many years, a disconnect between them has widened their ability to communicate. The Das’s marriage is extremely fragile, and their communication attempts are unsuccessful.
