I love discussing poems in class because it gives me a sense to understand poetry. This poem shows opposite relationship between the gender of male and female. She wrote this poem when she was a student in college. For my opinion, people who start at a young age doing poems will have a growth on continuing and working hard to make a difference for themselves. I find this poem cool because I’d realized it has a rhyme scheme. The rhyme scheme by the end of each verse that I love to read. It’s understandable that the tiger figures are the confidence and aren't afraid of men. Women didn’t have power, they were sometimes afraid to open up to men on what they enjoy doing. Female poetics didn’t exist during her time which is unfair because women poetics were highly educated also not just men. Personally, I find it hard to see women and men separate doing there own thing. She got married which means there’s a commitment to be together with her husband. Marriage at that time was serious. I felt bad she was struggling because she wasn’t happy. Her life style lived in a different way, she wasn’t aware of her own action. For my opinion she could’ve thought like a tiger by feeling confident and not feel afraid of men. Even though aunt jennifer was struggling for feminism, her gifts of tigers changed it all by the end of the poem. The story had a good ending because after her death feminism began. I would never like to see women struggle, she didn't want to come out as a feminist. So later on feminist happened in the 60’s. Women had the same ability as men did which is great to have! Having the correct motivation and feeling positive will help to achieve any goal that is the purpose to make.
