Interval vs. Steady-Pace Cardio So what is the difference between interval and steady pace cardio? Interval training is when you do both high and low intensity workouts in intervals. For example, you might sprint for 90 seconds and then do a brisk walk for five minutes. Conversely, steady pace training is when you do a warm up, work out at the same pace for however long you need, then do a cool-down.
