Elstein prides himself on leading by example. His leadership style aligns with the attributes listed above because he is transparent with his supervisors and communicates on an ongoing basis with all team members regarding policy updates and changes. He also has an open-door policy and readily makes himself available to discuss and collaborate on challenging patient cases. He is not only committed to his patient’s upward progression, but also to the growth of his fellow employees. He stated that communication is one of the most challenging areas in an organization because if there is a breakdown in communication either laterally or horizontally, this almost always has a negative impact upon staff and patients. “Open communication and a non-punitive environment allow for growth and innovation” (I.
