Summary: Overall each person I interviewed had a different opinion on what they thought democracy was and how it affected them in the education field. Some of the people I interviewed agreed on the main definition we most have when we talk about democracy, which is a political system that is formed by government and the people. Many had the understanding a belief on education being based on a schooling aspect as well as surrounding aspects that affect the person. When discussing about the correctional among democracy and education many didn’t know what to say, but they saw it as a combination and then one persons I interviewed who was a bit older from many of the other people I interviewed didn’t believe in a correlation. Each person I interviewed had a difference in education, some of the people had attend a college level education others had been drops outs that didn’t really continue to get a schooling education, but rather received an education based off their surroundings.

Some were very uneasy when I would ask them questions because they felt that they were going to be judged because they didn’t finish getting a higher-level education. However with my interaction and my thoughts on democracy based on what I learned from John Dewey they were able to understand what I meant about democracy and how it correlates to education. Many of the people were able to communicate with me the importance of how education and democracy can be combined and can both have an impact on the deciding decision when electing, both the word democracy and education were seen as a form of having knowledge to be able to elect the people that correspond on the decision making on what is taught in
