It is hypothesised that there will be a significant positive relationship between creativity and happiness. 3. Discuss the variables that you will examine in your study. Identify the variables for your proposed study from your chosen research question. If appropriate, report which variable is the independent variable and which is the dependent variable. There are two variables which will be investigated in the study: the first one is happiness and the other one is creativity. The research wants to explore the potential relationship between creativity and happiness by using a correlational study. This is due to the fact they can destroy the study and create useless results. Some potential confounding variables that can be listed here are age, gender, education background, etc. These potentially confounding variables can be controlled by making sure that the levels of the potentially confounding factors of the participants are the same. As mentioned above, all of the participants are male undergraduate students at The University of Melbourne between the age of 18-21. Then, to analyse data, in simple terms, the study wants to compare scores on the level of creativity with scores on the level of happiness to explore if there is a significant positive relationship between these two variables.
