Invictus Historical Accuracy

In this paper I will prove that the film, Invictus, was historically accurate by discussing the true historical people and events, summarizing in the movie, and comparing and contrasting how the movie portrayed the true people and events. In my research I have visited multiple sites in order to tell whether there is more truth in the movie or more hollywood. Mandela 's actual name is rolihlahla which means trouble maker as a child he attended an almost all white school. As Mandela grew he attended an all white college the south African standard of yale or harvard in the US but due to his long work hours Mandela had to drop out of this college. On December 5,1956 Mandela was arrested for treason he spent 6 months in jail when we went to court he was thin and pale when Mandela was released his wife Evelyn was gone and took their kids with her. Mandela was arrested again and spent the next 27 years in a cramped prison cell only being allowed to see one person every year. On April 27,1994 the first free election was held and Mandela was elected president.Mandela saw the rugby team as a place were he can bring the country together if he invests his time. In the movie Invictus Mandela was released from prison and did become president of South Africa. I liked the film invictus and how it told the some of the story of Nelson Mandela 's life and showed the struggles he had to face. This movie is mostly comprised of facts and not fiction even though there are some parts that are. The poem that the move is name by shows and tells the will power that Mandela had in his struggles and troubles. If i could change something about the movie I would have gone back to his childhood to show what poverty he went through and the struggles he faced in his life. I would have shown his kids and his other wives before he got elected and the chief of his tribe and how jongintaba raised him. The last things that I would add to the move is him and his friend Justice opening their black law firm and Mandela getting elected president of his college and then stepping down and getting kicked out of
