In this existentialist novel, the anonymous narrator is a black young man who has been molded into naive humanism. He believes that each individual: black, white or yellow holds his/her place in the societal shackles of his/her country for that little, he/she makes proof of attendance, hard work and a certain deference to the White Man.
From here, it is soon realized that the narrator is the Invisible Man: the Black Man, supposedly free from slavery eighty years earlier by the American settler.
