As a freshman, I wanted to find new ways i could get involved with Iowa State University but specifically with the College of Business. Of all the clubs and organizations, I feel like in Business Council I could make a real impact with students in their academic and personal lives but also help get their voices heard with administration and staff. Business Council seems like the perfect place to get ideas across and keep the College of Business moving forward and becoming more successful. I think this organization could help me grow more as a leader and become closer to my college. I have always been a hard worker and dedicated to everything I do. In high school, I was Student Council representative of my class which allowed me to work close to the students by getting their ideas and opinions and presenting them to the administration. I was in charge of pep rallies and creating interactive activities for the whole school. In ISU, I plan to get involved in many more ways but I currently serve as a Cyclone Aide. I believe the College of Business is amazing and could improve its outreach to new students. Not many people see Iowa State University and think of Business. I believe we can change that and find new ways to promote College of Business events and programs. I haven’t been here long since I am only a freshman but I feel like that is a perfect point of view that I could bring in. As a multicultural student, I would also love to bring more representation to the College of Business and help create programs or advertisements that feel exclusive for students of all cultures. I’d love to help contribute to creating a great name for this college and have not only incoming business students but current ones excited about the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of
