Irony In O. Henry's The Ransom Of Red Chief

Have you ever kidnapped a child? In the story of The Ransom of Red Chief by O. Henry. Two men whose names were Sam and Bill decide to kidnap a child from a little town called Summit in Alabama. They find a nice rich man with a little 10 year old child, and also the child was young enough to not understand what was going. They kidnap this child and take him to a cave they stock with provisions but the kid is really annoying. They are soon realizing this might not have been such a great idea and it turns around and bites them in the butt. They kidnap the child and in return they get punished from it. O. A good example you can always do bad things like my cousin shoplifts, and guess what she ends up having repercussions in the end. Do they ever pay off? In most cases it does not. If she does steal enough stuff to make it worth it the fine and the jail time when she gets caught will be much worse than what she actually took. We as a family could never understand why she didn’t stop doing it she says it gives her a rush. We thought to ourself maybe she should find a better thing that gives her a rush then stealing stuff. This kind of goes along the story you try to make money off something so really they lose money and it's all their fault. This relates today on parenting as well. Being a parent back then the kid was to be mindful and do as a father says and parents weren't really involved in school life and other things that the children today do. A Lot of the time parents run ragged trying to keep up with all their kids activities and such causing parenting to be a little more like Red Chief when he rode Bill 90 miles and fed him sand where the parents do as a kids want to do at any
