I was told by the Student Council club sponsor, Mrs. Nevils, to run for ninth grade At-Large member and I obliged. Smart move. She told me it was for practice when I become president, and all I thought about was how I was going to run the school like I was running the country. All I had to do was make a speech. Easy, right? No, it was not easy. The day of the speech I was late, speech-less, and nervous. I hauled it up the stairs of the school, running pass my homeroom to the library. The librarian, who I had a love and hate relationship with, is an evil nun. The nun’s name was Sister Nathalee, and we never knew if she had hair. It was one of her greatest mysteries. She would put you out of the library for yawning and sneezing, and tell you to go outside and get some vitamin D. Sister Nathalee was extremely saint-like. She called me over, I thought she was going to put me out as usual, but she tells me I am next. My heart is bumping out of my chest and I knew everyone can hear it. It was like Edgar Allan Poe.
