Abortion is one the most debatable topic still relevant in today society. Is abortion legal? Why or why not? Who decide if it’s legal or illegal? Is it morally ethnic to have an abortion? These are a few question that we need to take into consideration. Abortion has been an issue throughout history. Abortion was consider illegal since the late 19th century. However, it all change because of an influential case of Roe v. Wade, 1972. Under the 14th amendment, abortion is consider legal because women have the rights of privacy; however, there are some states that has restriction on abortion. For example, Mississippi has only one clinic that can provide abortions procedure for the whole state. Furthermore, they can only performed abortion up to sixteen weeks gestation. In addition to the limited access to abortion, states restricted health insurance from covering for abortions procedure. According to the CDC, abortion rate was at the highest peak in the 1990s then it start to decline at a steady rate. Although abortion is legalized it is still a controversial topic. Some feminist believe abortion should be pro-choice; while other activist believe it should be pro-life. Both party have different perspective on abortion; however, which party is right?

Pro-choice consider unborn fetus are not alive until they are able to survive outside the womb and not at conception; therefore, they cannot feel pain when most abortion occurred. According to Bellinger (2017), “Gloria Steinem published an essay in which she accused pro-life advocates of taking a stance that has parallels with Hitler’s philosophy, because both he and pro-life advocates are opposed to allowing women individual autonomy in reproduction”. If a women cannot control what is happening with their own body then what can they control? By empowering women the decision to control their reproductive choose; women are less likely to be unemployed, be on public welfare, be below the poverty line, and become victims of domestic violence because women are not at a financial disadvantage. Women having children with or without help can be tough because it can be expensive. For example, the cost of daycare, diapers, clothes, and food. Abortion gives pregnant women the option to choose not to bring fetuses with profound abnormalities to full term because some severe disorder which death is guaranteed. In addition, baby should not come into the world unwanted because having a baby is important and can be life changing. In the article of How to be a Women, Moran state “By whatever
