Is the raven in Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven real or imaginary? The Raven is one of the best known poems from Edgar Allan Poe but even though it is really good and very well known it is a little controversial because many people say that the raven from the poem is real, that the raven did fly inside the house and could speak but could only say "nevermore" but on the other hand some people say its just something in its head, that maybe because he just lost the love of his life he's kind of going crazy and seeing things that are not really there and he was still kind of asleep. So the man is being haunted by an evil raven that is just trying to mess with his mind or is his wife giving him a message for him to get over her. Here the thing is that if there is really a bird in the room, why is it talking to him and why is it repeating the same word? But if the man wasn't crazy before this happened, if a bird repeats the same thing over and over again when you ask a question or just simply because he wants to say it, that is enough to make someone or anyone get in their nerves or go insane, because it is annoying and could make you go crazy. It could also be that there is no bird and its all in the narrators head and he is going insane. With the lost of the love of his life anyone could go crazy or through depression and depression could lead to someone hearing voices that are not being said by anyone or imagining something that they are not seeing and that is probably what is happening to think. But at the end this is not a fact it is just an opinion, everyone looks at it differently. Some people believe the bird is fake and some believe the bird is real, it depends on how you see the poem and how you interpret
