Is God Omnipotent? In all cultures of the world, the idea of a supreme being is a strong belief that is explained and interpret in many ways. All these beliefs share some mutual ideas on what this Supreme Being is responsible for in our own existence and the existence of the universe and everything in it. I think it is safe to say that one common belief amongst these cultures is that this being or as I and many people call him God, is responsible for creating the world and determining a majority or all of the things that happen in it. My question is: Is evil something that exists or is it a label we have created to label bad events and acts that happen? My answer to that is that evil does exist, but not in the terms we think of. Let’s rewind back and look at the typical image or representation of God. We have already mentioned that he is the creator of everything, but we forgot to mention probably one of his greatest and sometime worse creations of all…….. Human beings. We are beings who are not as powerful as God, but we are and were created in his image. This is another common view we think of when we refer to God and with that being said, people may question if this is the case then why can people process the power to be evil and can evil be justified. Since we are created in his image we may not have the power to physically manipulate all things in our lives to better accommodate one’s self, but we are responsible for the decisions we make in life and God has given us the freewill to do so. Since we have the choice to do certain things in life wouldn’t that support the idea that someone would choose to be evil or do an evil act? If God made us in his image then we have the power of free will and can choose to do what we want whether God likes it or not so being evil or doing evil acts is in the constraints of us and not God and even though he is omnipotent, he allows things to happen in our lives for a reason. We may view these events as an act of evil, but to God it can be a positive thing. Since God may have another idea of what is good and bad this can bring up the idea that or conception of what evil is, is
