Is Islam and violence like a peanut butter and jelly combination? Do they always get along with each other? The growth of terrorist groups such as Boko Haram, ISIS, Al-Qaeda, who have Muslims as their group members, baffle the non-Islamic people regarding the true nature of Islam. Most analysts argue that the terrorist threat is unquestionably Islamic and is not much a deviation from Muslim tradition, whereas others defend that Islamic terrorism diverges from the true teachings. In the modern Muslim nations stoning of gays and dehumanization of women is very excessive. As per the current situations, it is almost impossible to separate violence from Islam. Talking about individual rights, Muslims should also be equally protected under the unprejudiced principles everyone else adores. Yet for some reason the criticism of religion, and the traditions and ideologies that go with it, has been transformed into acts of racism. Islam is given a special allotment from the standards that apply to the rest of the world. According to the prominent Islamic scholar Howard Dean: “Terrorists have no respect for anybody else’s life, and that’s not what the Quran says” (Harsanyi). Similarly, Islamic scholar “Ezra Klein argues that Charlie Hebdo massacre was nothing more than “unprovoked mass slaughter” that had nothing to do with blasphemy or Islam” (Harsanyi). Dean and Klein are showing the disapproval towards the fact the Quran ignites terrorism. While it seems that Islam is the pillar of all the violence and terrorism, Islamic scholars have contrasting views. Even the ISIS and other Islamic radical groups were subsidized by NATO and the West to fight the Syrian government until it slipped from their clasp and started doing devastating acts. The West identified the most gruesome monsters, threw millions of dollars at them, equipped them, gave them advanced soldierly training and then set them loose. Also, from the Middle East point of view, it seems that the West is aiming at the absolute destruction of Muslim countries and the Muslim culture. From a peaceful and innovative civilization, that used to lean towards socialism, the Muslim nations and Islam suddenly found itself crashed, victimized, defeated and penetrated by the foreign religious and ideological implants and transformed by the Western principles
