The book I am reading is Enrique’s Journey by Sonia Nazario. I predict that the author will explore the human rights issue of Immigration Laws and the plight of illegal aliens in the United States. I believe that this issue will be important in the story because Enrique the main character in the story is very driven to find his mother who has gone herself illegally to the United States to earn money to provide an education for her children and to better the life of her family. I made this prediction because Lourdes leaves her children in Honduras as she goes to make money in the United States and her son Enrique is left saying “Donde esta mi mami?” “Where is my mom?”

I agree that Nora Rodriguez is being a hero because she is helping immigrants fix their paperwork. Her office is a table on a corner with a beach umbrella to protect her from the sun, despise were she works people come to her for help on filing their paperwork for legal residency in Mexico, she helps them fill forms and wright letters to the immigration offices. Nora has been experienced what they are going through " her experience motivated her to offer similar immigration services at a lower cost.
Nora Roudrigez is a hero to immiagrants because she helped them out with important paperwork. All these immigrants were trying to qualify for documents. These people pay 4,130 pessos, and some dont even get excepted. Roudriquez who has lived in Mexico since 2000 says her expirences have shown her that most (83%) are central American.

This novel puts a whole new perspective on courage by demonstrating different types of courage . Many different behaviors and beliefs can link to courage; bravery, fear, and even religious faith.

This evidence is important because it shows that not all Americans are mean and selfish. This section on gender features a passage from the Honduran human rights activist, Elvia Alvarado titled, “Childhood to Motherhood.” Throughout the passage, Alvarado retells her experiences as a woman growing up and having to deal with a violent, alcoholic father, an absentee mother, and the constant repression of her womanhood by Honduran society. All the while, her life experiences reflect on topics such as class, machismo, and femininity. Elvia begins by recalling her memories of her feeble imitation of a childhood. From her father going to work everyday only to come home empty handed and wasting away at the bottom of a bottle.

After many years of becoming a dressmaker, she became very wealthy and now owns a store in San Francisco. Another strong female character is Ántonia. Ántonia moved to America from Lithuania, lost her father, worked in a field like a man and now she owns a home with her husband and 10 kids.
In summary, the differences between myself and the community of Mexican-Americans is that I am a black African from Nigeria and the community consists of white Hispanics from Mexico. Mexican Americans came, as the name implies, from Mexico. Immigration of Mexican into USA started from the gold rush in California and the copper mining in Arizona, but a large number immigration came as a result of political unrest in the early twentieth century. This immigration came in four huge waves. According to by Jie Zong and Jenna Batalova in the “Migration Information Source”, the first wave occurred before the Second World War.
