In the novel The Lord of the Flies, Piggy represents a hero in many different ways. Other than the fact that he stands up, not only for himself, but also for others that may be vulnerable or weak (personality wise). These are the actions of a true hero. Of course this is entirely optional and may be debatable by others. Unfortunately Piggy couldn’t live to the end; although he deserved to get off the island the most, out of all other characters. This doesn’t mean that Piggy was the only one with good intentions; there were others who were completely innocent as well. Even though Piggy didn’t make it to the end, he truly is the reason most of the other kids were able to get off the island. Even those who did not deserve such an act of kindness such as Jack and those working alongside him were only able to escape due to Piggy. There are many reasons why Piggy represents a hero.
