In the book “Lord Of The Flies” by William Golding Ralph is the better leader among the boys. Ralph tries to keep the island in check by setting rules. Ralph also makes decisions to help the boys get rescued from the island. Ralph cares most about the group's well-being making him the better leader. While the boys are on the island Ralph tries to keep the island in check by setting rules. This can be shown in Chapter 5 where Ralph states “Now I say this and make it a rule, because I’m chief”. This shows Ralph taking charge and making it known that he is the leader and that everyone needs to listen to what he says. Ralph sets several rules for the boys on the island to follow.
