Sex selection is when one uses medical techniques to conceive the preferred gender of a child; sex selection is unethical and should be illegal.. All sex selection procedures are chosen by the parents not the child. This is unethical, a child’s life is changed indefinitely. Therefore, sex selection is unethical. There is now the technology of eugenics, parents will soon be able to choose several traits of their child, including the gender. Clinics are saying there are large amounts of requests for eugenics, and it is wanted in many areas. Many factors are included in a PGD. Some people say it is good humanity is advancing, this is the future. It is not, this is something humans do not need to mess with. If people change their babies before birth, then scientist may start doing the same to animals. Creating hybrids, there was a reason Frankenstein was rioted by the villagers. Frankenstein’s creation could have been harmful to society. Now saying Frankenstein’s creation could have been harmful is not the same as saying the creation was harmful. Sex selection could lead to great things. However, people will riot, make a huge deal out of the situation, this is what will cause the problems. Not only this, but people will abuse the technology, and thus cause the gender imbalance to worsen. Some people say hunting is a horrible thing to do, it is murdering defenseless animals. However, if humans did not hunt the animals would overpopulate. Now put sex selection into perspective. If people choose the genders of their children, one gender will overpopulate the other. This will lead to the end of humanity because one gender cannot produce by itself. If people can choose genders then what is gender really? Nothing, gender roles will go away, sexism...and this sounds like a great thing. But, if gender roles were to go away how will society work, it will collapse. Society sees new technology as an experiment, without thinking of the consequences. Impulsive behavior is unhealthy for a reason, consequences are there to warn people before they make a decision.
