Claudel Choisene Soc Is Sociology just a part of common sense? It is often argued that It is. Although if you compose an in depth comparison of the two you can find that there are a few distinctions.
 Sociology is the study of social life, social change, the social causes and additionally the consequences of human behavior. Sociologist focus their study on the structure of groups, organizations, societies moreover; how the people interact within these structures. All human behavior is social which makes sociology extend from different ranges such as a family household to a prison inmate, or to a set of different culture or races. Unlike sociology it doesn’t exploit the scientific method of research. The information gathered from common sense is never usually seriously questioned. Information gathered by using common sense remains to be taken for granted, therefore seems to be sensitive to all reasonable people. A few appropriate examples to explain how it is taken for granted can be like when my godson touched the stove once when told not to, consequently received a burn. Off of that personal experience, he learned not to touch the stove again as a result of the afflicted burns. Another example of this is a Palestinian and an Israeli working together. Their government goes on to be not greatly fond of each other, yet the people often have different feeling toward those on the other side. Despite the fact of the conflict between the two governments, common sense will tell you to work together when it 's needed.
There lies various examples that show how sociological research might dispel a commonly accepted view. One of them is the belief that developing countries modernize and the lives of their female citizens do so as well which is false because based on my studies, no country shows data that a woman earns higher than a man. Another belief is that there is no white supremacy and African American have the same opportunity as everybody else, yet the unemployment rate for African Americans in the united states continue to be higher amongst other groups if compared. What separates sociology from common sense is the type of information and the way it is acquired. Commonsense is a mass of knowledge that is observed based on one 's experiences. Sociologists seek to analyze. An example of this is sociologist would search why people interact with others and belong to groups, why people work and even why some groups have extra power than others and utilize the scientific method
