Technology is ruining childhood. As Technology has become more accessible to everyone, most households now have a computer, while a majority of children have a phone or can easily have access to one. Easy access to technology has ruined childhood because most children now prefer to play games on their phones instead of going outside to spend time with friends. When I was younger I lived in Africa and having a phone at an early age wasn 't something that interested my friends and I. What they learn from their experiences in the desert are lessons learned and memories made that a child or a person cannot make using technology. The walls children and many children born before an era where technology is so accessible experienced childhood in a way that enabled them to make memories and mistakes that gave them lifelong lessons that children in the technology era will not experience. Technology being so accessible takes away the need for imagination and the hunger for adventure because everything you want and need can be googled or provided through games. The constant use of technology also numbs the feeling of excitement for having adventures in the outdoors, it makes them seem tedious and annoying to be walking through parks looking for different types of rocks or different species of animals when you can simply search it up and have the information on hand. Technology also takes away the chance for children to make mistakes and learn lessons from solving the issues that come with the mistakes. When I was younger my best friend taught me how to ride a bike and on my first ride I crashed and scratched someone’s car.
