The Manifestation of Heinous During the 1920’s people always seek to live in a luxurious lifestyle. An increase of materialistic interests kept on growing with the demand of the people. Economic boom doubled where people could afford to buy anything they desired. However, many took advantage of this in order to have control over others who were poor or had no power compared to the rich that had everything. Money was the cause that made people act a certain way, believing that they had the power to seek what they desire at the cost of the suffering of others. In The Great Gatsby, we see that these characteristics are a manifestation of Tom Buchanan making him a loathsome person. In many occasions, he manages his actions by manipulating people along the way to achieve his desires. He does this without considering the effect to other as long he gets to enjoy himself with pleasures, living in a luxurious lifestyle and at the same time living a double life, secretly from his wife Daisy. “ Go on.
