Isaac Newton was born on January 4th 1643 in Woolsthrope, England and died on March 31st 1727 in Kensington, England. Newton attended Cambridge University and majored in Math and Physics. He became a professor at his alma mater after graduating. Sir Isaac Newton became famously known for his work on gravity. “English physicist and mathematician Sir Isaac Newton, most famous for his law of gravitation, was instrumental in the scientific revolution of the 17th century” (Isaac Newton Biography). Sir Isaac Newton was rejected by his family. While growing up he had many issues with his step father and came to claim he hated him. Newton seemed to be a bit aggressive to the point where he once threatened to burn down his family’s home. “He was …show more content…

The three basic ideas have been verified and tested so much that they are called Newton’s Three Laws of Motion. “The first law says that an object at rest tends to stay at rest, and an object in motion tends to stay in motion, with the same direction and speed” (Newton's Laws of… 1). Unless acted on by an unbalanced force. With no force applied no movement will occur. In addition, if moving in a specific direction and force is applied then the direction will change. “The second law says that the acceleration of an object produced by a net (total) applied force is directly related to the magnitude of the force, the same direction as the force, and inversely related to the mass of the object” (Newton's Laws of… 1). The third law describes how two forces, positive and negative, react on one object. “With discoveries in optics, motion and mathematics, Newton developed the principles of modern physics. In 1687, he published his most acclaimed work, Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy), which has been called the single most influential book on physics. Newton died in London on March 31, 1727” (Isaac Newton
