The Islamic Empire (634-1922) was one of the most important empires ever. The Islamic expansion during the 7th and 8th centuries was one of the most amazing developments in human history. Combinations of cultural, political, and economic systems and factors mainly led to this expansion. The early Islamic caliphates created a strong legal and political system based on Islamic law, known as Sharia. Sharia helped to keep the newly conquered territories stable. Sharia was considered by the Muslims as the divine law from God that provided guidance to living a good life. Conquered tribes had to choose between converting to Islam or paying tribute. People who had converted were promised protection, while people who didn't faced violence. This approach helped expand Islamic influence while maintaining
