The IVC (Ismaili Volunteer Corps) is a disciplined, united, and leading organization that provides exemplary voluntary service in assisting and improving the quality of life of the Ismaili Jamat, the Muslim Ummah, and the society at large by developing and using human talent guided by the ethical principles of Islam.

As a member of the IVC, I have served as a helper/leader in the Juniors Program at a local mosque. As a leader, I was responsible for assisting and guiding these juniors. My role as Youth Lead in the IVC has helped me to understand the true essence of being an effective leader instead of a boss.

My leadership role required me to be punctual, responsible and understanding; while teaching and working with Junior Volunteers. Collaboration was one of the many skills that I developed while I was Youth Lead. This skill has taught me how to better communicate with others and to work more efficiently in groups of various sizes. I have also learned how to delegate responsibilities, improving my ability to lead others.Working with the junior volunteers has also helped me become a more organized individual and has helped me to learn how to gather and analyze feedback to make future events better each time.
