Benjamin Franklin was a great man that had influences in many areas and because of that he had many enemies but because he understood human behavior he enabled himself to turn enemies into allies. To understand the Benjamin Franklin effect you need to know that the things you do often create the things you believe. An example is when “Franklin ran for his second term as a clerk, one of his colleagues delivered a long speech to the legislature lambasting Franklin. Franklin still won his second term, but this guy truly pissed him off. So he set out to turn his hater into a fan, but he wanted to do it without paying any servile respect to him.
Apart from his tremendous writing skills, Franklin was also known for being an inventor and a scientist. He started to explore the many aspects of electricity in 1746 and was the first one to name the electrical charges as “positive” and “negative”; moreover, he created the lighting rod, which was a crucial invention
Born in 1706 as the eighth of 17 children to a Massachusetts soap and candlestick maker, the chances Benjamin Franklin would go on to become a gentleman, scholar, scientist, statesman, musician, author, publisher and all-around general genius were astronomically low, yet he did just that. Franklin wrote in the Age of Enlightenment, an intellectual revolution in the 18th century. The ideals of the enlightenment are still thought of today, as they are a part of the United States’ Declaration of Independence and Constitution. When one remembers Benjamin Franklin very few people are aware of the fact that he worked as a printer until the age of 42. As a printer he had access to substantial amounts of literature.
Benjamin Franklin was a scientist, politician, and he invents a bunch of cool things. Benjamin Franklin did not attend school until the age of ten. It took his father two years to pay for his son’s education. Franklin’s family household was large and he is the youngest out of his seventeen siblings. Benjamin Franklin grew up with an unfortunate lifestyle; in the fall of 1723, he went travelled to Philadelphia the city of Pennsylvania with a lack of budget and without support from anyone not even his close family.
Benjamin Franklin was a wise man who always thought how to improve his life, and other people's life as well. At the age of 29 years old, Ben had open different business. He also did a lot great things in benefit to all citizens in the colony. For example, Ben published an almanac, and he helped to open the first volunteer fire brigade in Philadelphia.
He didn’t go to high school or college his dad needed his help with stuff so he pulled him out of elementary. He was already smart and knew how to read & write. His brother miss treated him. His brother was mean & wanted everything to go his way Ben franklin couldn’t take it any more so he ran away. Benjamin Franklin is known by many for his work with modern day electrical technologies. He worked with lightbulbs, conductors, batteries, and invented many other objects we still use to this day. However, Benjamin Franklin was not always the successful inventor everybody knows him as today. He started out from a working-class family, and through backbreaking work in addition to stark diligence he raised his stature to the powerful figure we distinguish him as today. It is because of this mindset and his climb to success that Benjamin Franklin is the prototypical American.
Benjamin Franklin was a man that had many titles. He did things like no other and discovered things that many believed was too early for his time. Ben was born on January 17, 1706, the 10th of 17 children. I learned in class that as a child, his father planned for him to be a clergyman, but they were in no financial state for that to happen. So due to lack of money, Ben only attended one year of official school.
When it came to books and reading, Benjamin Franklin was passionate about it. Benjamin Franklin would hold a reunion with other members who also had books of their own. They would share books among one another as if everyone were the owners of those books. He planned to convince the other members who had books to make his own public library. Everyone agreed to his idea, but there weren’t many books.
The importance of Ben Franklin has been told all throughout history, along with the famous $100 bill with his face on it. Drafting the Declaration of Independence, foudning universities and libraries, the post office, shaping policies in the U.S., publishing newspapers, making advances in science, and letting us use bifocals and using lighting for electricity. Even if this man never finished school, he did much reading and experiments that help us out today. The reason why I chose to write about Benjamin Franklin was because he was a very important Founding Father and it’s important for people to learn all about
Benjamin Franklin is known to be an “Archetypal American,” because of his beliefs on religion, self-improvement, hard work, and determination; but also his somewhat prideful spirit. Much of modern America is quite similar to Franklin in his actions throughout his lifetime. In his early years, Franklin’s father, Josiah, had a set plan for what he was supposed to do with his life, as a minister. Soon into his education, he found an interest in reading and writing, so he began pursuing a career in printing.
He created his own alphabet dispensing the letters c,j,q,w,x, and y, and adding others he made up to stand in for common sounds. He is said to have favored ‘air baths’, often writing essays and letters while sitting in a cold room with nothing on.” (“Isn’t Everyone” 131) Ben Franklin is someone most consider a genius and look up to, yet he was very strange and abnormal in many ways. It is important to respect those who are different from one another and to understand that every person contributes positively to the world before judging or disrespecting them.
Ben wrote a book about his experiments on electricity, that became extremely popular and even formed the basis of modern day electricity theory (Compton’s, p. 382). Not only did Franklin leave a great legacy as a scientist, but he also changed the course of American
