A set of standards, International Society for technology in Education Standards for Students, also known as ISTE Standards-S highlights what a student should know and be able to put to use in order to be a productive member of society in a digital world. There are distinct ISTE standards for students concerning their ability to be creative. These students are evolving in a digital era where the technology changes at a growing pace. (Gunter & Gunter, 2014). Schools make attempts on a daily basis to introduce students to critical thinking skills by engaging them in problem solving circumstances (Mahlke, V. B., 1993). The resource Starfall, is a program that fits the criteria needed to engage students in programs that assist students in critical thinking from preschool up until second grade, as well as special education and English language development students. The availability and accessibility of the program is free due to the program being a publicly supported charity, making this program available for home schooled children as well.
