Some firms perform consistently better than others, because they have a sustainable competitive advantage. There are three types of competitive advantages that firms can have. A differentiation will give a firm a way to offer better benefits or value to the consumer than their competitors such as having an exclusive or superior product. If a firm delivers a product faster or better than their competitors, this can create a competitive advantage as well. If this product is a superior product, consumers are willing to pay a premium for it. This will lead to the firm having a higher profit margin because of the premium price. Each office often relies on other offices for knowledge of their area and listings as they create relationships within these offices in a cooperative effort that works in favor for both offices. Often industry factors affect the shortage of homes available and the relationship with the other offices can be competitive. There are times also that the clients need go beyond the area that Jack Conway agents have access to such as in another state or country so they have a cooperative relationship with “The Leading Realtors of the World” to facilitate the needs of their clients. Jack Conway and Co, Inc. must also compete with other realtors in the industry to create relationships, referrals and successful closings for clients. In Plymouth, MA we currently have a severe shortage of year- round rental properties and this leads to an increase in rental prices. It could mean clients will look to other areas of the South Shore of Massachusetts, which is outside our Plymouth office
