Is Jack the next Hitler, does he grow in both power and cruelty as Hitler once has? Jack was called out as leader of the savages and he quickly gained control over them and power of their will. Jack and the savages did several actions of murder, and tortured many throughout the entire story of the book. Jack may also resemble Hitler when Jack had lead his boys in the hot weather wearing all black cloak and letting the boys suffocate and dehydrate, to the point where Simon had fainted from the heat. In this essay, Jack will be proven to show a resemblance of Hitler through evidence, speculations, and allusions to how he compares to Hitler. One good example would be how Jack decided to start making fun of Piggy in the beginning of the story and tortured making his life every day a living hell. Jack would also beat up and slap Piggy, but the most severe torture was the action of Jack beating and torturing Wilfred. Wilfred wasn’t much of an important character because for the majority of the time he was either alone tied up or being tortured by Jack. In Chapter 10 the author exclaims, “Jack ties up and beats a boy named Wilfred and then warns the boys against Ralph and his small group, saying that they are a danger to the tribe.” This demand indicates how controlling and cruel Jack was to one of the kids that followed under Jack’s trails. This resembles Hitler since Hitler would kill and torture those who did not go his way or follow his traditions. Hitler would kill any Jew who would not be accustomed to his rules and regulations and torture was by far the punishment for every camp. Since Wilfred supported Jack and followed under his rules and traditions, Jack didn’t like that, so once he got a hold of Wilfred he decided to torture him and do anything he could to make him feel
