Jack the Ripper was a serial killer who raped prostitutes in the Whitechapel area located in Southeastern England. In 1888 law enforcement wasn’t to the power that it strongly is today. Lost of murders could happen without much information being known or even much consequence. One of the first murders to occur in the Whitechapel was on August 31, 1888 with a women named Mary Ann. Mary Ann was the mother of 5 children and struggled with raising her children and needed a little bit more money to feed her children.
