During the night of December 24th, 1982 in North Carolina, Jack Wilson, a 16-year old boy, went to the International Gaming Tournament, where he won first place. He felt so proud. He wanted to call his parents who were gone to Hawaii for three weeks to share his happiness. When he arrived at his house he made some hot chocolate and gathered by the cozy fire, looking at his only Christmas present. Though it was small, it was special as it was from his parents. Since Jack was by himself, he started to watch T.V. On the TV, there were news reporters explaining a recent robbery in an empty house. Jack’s eyes opened. He went downstairs and realized it was a man in black. It was a thief. “AHHHHHHH!”, Jack screamed, blowing his cover, and now sprinting upstairs, while the thief pulled out his pistol, and ran after Jack. Jack quickly ran into the bathroom, locked the room, and prayed to God that he didn’t get spotted. He heard the loud footsteps of the man stomping on the wooden floor. The thief tampered with the locked doorknob. “Open the door! I’ll shoot it open!” he yelled. Once he realized Jack wasn’t responding, he started to kick the door. Jack broke the towel bar, preparing himself for combat. The door smashed open. “I told you to open the door...now you’re gonna pay!”, he yelled again. The man went closer to the bathroom, and just as he looked to the side, his head was hit by an iron bar. Jack was safe, but the thief was not, blood was rushing out of the thief’s body. Jack checked his pulse and felt nothing. He was dead. “Oh my god! What do I do now!?”, Jack frighteningly questioned. He tried to calm himself to think properly. He looked around the bloody room, and he found the thrives ID in his wallet. His name was “Brycen Howard.” Who it this?”, Jack questioned again. Jack wanted to call the police to report the crime. Jack took the body to his father’s massive bedroom and called the police. Just as the officer replied, Jack immediately noticed the massive gun his father had. Yeah….It was fine. I won first place at the International Gaming Tournament”, Jack anxiously replied. “Ok then. Just go to your seat and let’s start class”, Mrs. Smith concluded. For the next few days, Jack Wilson was extremely nervous around everybody including teachers, his friends, and even his parents during their phone calls. He felt isolated and confined as he couldn’t talk to anybody freely. He was still too afraid to contact the police. Jack really wanted his dad to be with him. One day, like usual, Jack came home and made food while the thought of the dead body haunted him. When all of a sudden, the doorbell rang. Jack thought it was one of his friends, but his mind was cautious. Jack slowly opened the door. The police arrived! “Hello. Are your parents home?”, the officer said. Jack shook his head. “There is a robber in town and we haven’t seen him for days. From the security cameras, we can see that the man came into this house.
