Jackie Robinson “A Baseball Hero” Who would have thought a small town kid that was the youngest one in the family out of 5, Jackie Robinson. Who would've thought he would pick up sports so quickly at a young age. Growing up he was criticized for being the youngest and succeeding on what he loved to play and that was baseball. He always said that he was going to play in the majors and not let anything stop him from doing what he dreamed to do. He said if he gets signed in the MLB he was going to break records and shock the world and becoming the only black baseball player to ever play baseball in the MLB. He was in Cairo, GA to Jerry Robinson, who was a plantation laborer in South, and Mallie Robinson who was a housekeeper (“Jackie Robinson”). Jackie Robinson went through schooling and headed off to college to proceed his athletic career at UCLA. While he was at UCLA he played 4 sports track, basketball, baseball, football. He was inducted in the hall of fame in 1962. He inspired young black kids to not be afraid on what you want to do in life and follow your dreams to play the game you love to do.
