Jackie Robinson is a hero to people of all races and ages. The stuff he went through so other African Americans didn’t have to go through to play in the MLB was incredible. Jackie was born in 1919 in Gario Georgia. His parents name were Mallie and Jerry Robinson. He had 3 brothers named Mark, Edgar and Frank. He also had one sister named Willa. Mr. Robinson is no longer alive he died when he was 53 years old in 1972 of a stroke.
Jackie Robinson showed many people no matter what people are gonna think and say about you, you can do anything you want. Jackie didn’t stop playing the game because people would call him names when he was at bat or when players would try to hurt him on purpose. He had to be very mentally tough to handle all the things people said to him. He didn’t let all the distractions get to his head he just went out and played. He wasn’t just an average player in the league he was a very good one winning MVP in 1949 after just two seasons in the league. He also went on to winning a world series in 1955 also.
Another reason Jackie Robinson is hero to many is that he was the first one to do it. He showed everyone that African Americans can play baseball to and not just be an average player. He went through all the discrimination …show more content…

He was willing to do whatever to be able to play in the majors. He was never scared of anyone while he was playing all he focused on was playing the game. He wasn’t worried about people yelling at him he didn’t let them get to him because if we did he wouldn’t of been the player he was. He knew going in the league that everyone was gonna tell him he couldn’t do it and that African Americans weren’t ready to play in the big leagues but he never once quit he kept going going and showed the world that if you have a dream you chase it and don’t stop til you get there and that’s what really makes Jackie the hero he his
