Introduction
If we go back in time, we know that for many years we had been impacted with many unfair rights. One of the biggest problems that interfered with our rights was the color barrier. This barrier stole many people's lives as it impacted them in many ways and stopped them from doing what they love. A major impact that helped this color barrier was the impact Jackie Robinson had in Major League Baseball. Since the moment he was born, he grew up with segregation. Along with this, Jackie grew up poor, barely having enough money for food. As a child, Jackie always loved sports and that love for sports continued into his teenage years. Jackie started off by signing with a semiprofessional football team called the Honolulu Bears. Following this, Jackie was drafted into the army. While in the army, this was where he began to develop his strong passion for fighting for equal rights. One day, he was on a U.S. Army bus with a wife of a fellow officer. During the duration of the bus ride, the driver believed that the woman was white and ordered Jackie to the back of the bus. Of course, Jackie refused this as U.S. Army buses were supposed to not be segregated. Eventually, the driver backed down but later called Military police. This situation led to Jackie being taken into custody and then later being ruled not guilty. He had finally become at ease with pressure being lifted off of him. When the season came to a close, Robinson was a changed man. He had finally felt the support he needed from his teammates and those around him. When the season came to a close, he was even selected as Rookie of the Year. As Robinson continued to excel in baseball he began to become seen as a regular in the game. This started when he got thrown out a game for heckling at an empire.
